Terms for Using the Guide
An independent history resource
These conditions govern use of American History and Community Guide at allproudamericans.com, while preserving rights that applicable law makes mandatory. The publication explains historical and community topics for general readers.
It does not represent the former site operator, a government agency, an armed service, a veterans body or a campaign. Reading its material does not create eligibility for a programme or establish a relationship with any organisation discussed.
Limits of editorial information
Coverage of service records, memorials or benefits terminology is educational context, not legal advice or an individual eligibility assessment. Check current instructions with the responsible agency before acting on a programme-related question.
A historical interpretation may depend on incomplete records or a source’s perspective. The operator aims to identify those limits, but cannot guarantee that every account is exhaustive or that a practical detail remains current after publication.
Material and permissions
Rights in original writing, photographs, archival reproductions and design remain with their respective holders. A public source can still carry restrictions on reproduction; readers must establish the permissions relevant to their intended use.
Quotation and other uses permitted by law remain available. For uses beyond those permissions, obtain authorisation from the relevant holder rather than assuming that an editorial reference grants a licence.
Sending information and using access
Contribute only material you have authority to share, particularly where a family narrative or service document concerns another person. The operator may consider a correction without promising to publish a contribution or act as a confidential records service.
Do not impersonate an official agency, submit another person’s private records unnecessarily or attempt to interfere with administrative access. Misuse that threatens ordinary delivery may be restricted to protect readers and the publication.
Commercial and outside services
No sponsored history coverage or affiliate tracking is enabled. Any later paid material must identify its commercial purpose, and optional tracking must be explained with the required choices before it begins.
Archives, museums and veterans services referenced in a guide operate independently of this website. They determine their own access requirements, application processes and information practices; the operator cannot conduct a transaction or resolve a case for them.
Availability and responsibility
Maintenance and external failures can interrupt access to these guides. Any restriction on the operator’s responsibility applies only to the extent allowed by law, with mandatory protections and non-excludable liabilities preserved.
Changes to the publication may require revised terms; an invalid provision does not by itself undo the remaining conditions. Enquiries about these terms can be sent to [email protected].
