30 Foot Wide Sinkhole Opens Up In Detroit

It's not Florida this time.  For anyone in Detroit, Michigan - look out below!  A giant sinkhole opened up in the middle of the road on Detroit's west side.

A contractor was doing some routine maintenance in the morning on Friday when he noticed some erosion.  That's when the ground began to slowly open up.

The sinkhole has grown to 30 feet wide and is now 16 feet deep.

Workers are checking for gas leaks around the giant hole and people in the area were asked to turn off their utilities just as a precaution.
